Award-Winning Green Office Sets New Standards

December 2, 2024

Confluences has been awarded at the Cambodia Energy Efficiency Competition, marking a significant milestone in sustainable office management. This achievement reflects our long-term commitment to environmental practices, the collective efforts of our resident community, and our ongoing dedication to creating an energy-efficient workspace in Phnom Penh.

Our participation in the Cambodia Energy Efficiency Competition (CEE Comp) led to significant results: a 20.63% reduction in energy consumption and preventing 5,639kg of CO2 emissions. These achievements earned us Third Place in the Overall Competition Category and the Best Communication Award.

This success stems from concrete daily actions across our 900+ sqm office space, which hosts nearly 100 residents daily. Sreyream CHHAI, our Front Desk & Happiness Officer, coordinated essential initiatives including awareness campaigns, daily energy monitoring, and implementing a "Switch Off" checklist. Our marketing and communication team supported these efforts through targeted internal campaigns.

The results reflect strong collaboration between all stakeholders. The Ministry of Environment and the CEE Comp organizing team provided guidance, while our staff maintained consistent energy monitoring practices and participated in sustainability workshops. Our success builds on existing environmental initiatives within our workspace, enhanced by the expertise of our resident companies specializing in sustainability and circular economy.

"This competition helped us strengthen our office sustainability approach," notes Diada SAN, our Marketing and Communication Manager. "These results push us to keep improving our energy efficiency policies and engage our community in environmental initiatives."

Our green commitment extends beyond the competition timeline. We're implementing long-term solutions to reduce our environmental impact, setting benchmarks for workspace sustainability in Cambodia. Our resident community actively contributes to these efforts, sharing expertise and implementing innovative solutions for waste management and energy efficiency.

We're also excited to welcome our newest resident, Elsa LENTHAL, founder of ELSA LENTHAL - LAVANDES. As a French artisan from Provence specializing in traditional lavender products, Elsa brings authentic craftsmanship to our workspace while aligning with our commitment to sustainable practices. As our community grows, we continue to welcome professionals who share our values and vision for responsible business practices.

Looking ahead, we're strengthening our environmental initiatives through careful planning and collaboration with our resident companies. Our goal is to inspire more businesses to adopt sustainable practices, contributing to Cambodia's green development.

Our office demonstrates how workspaces can balance productivity with environmental responsibility. Located in central Phnom Penh, we welcome visits from companies interested in joining our community.
