Confluences Founder and CEO, Soreasmey KE BIN, visited Shanghai from 8-14 April 2024 for a successful trip which represented our first visit to China. The timing of the trip came as Confluences is undergoing major exciting changes in our business structure and approach (which will be expanded on and announced soon).
As part of the trip, Mr. Soreasmey met with our partners at Puy du Fou Asia who are a leading French theme park operator as they are about to open their first immersive experience in Shanghai in May 2024. The "Saga City of Light" project has US$90.7 million in investment, and covers 46,000 square meters at the west pavilion of Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Centre.
In addition, meetings were held with VVR international, who are a market access expert for China, with the goal of opening up more connections between Cambodia and China, by adding French and European expertise and knowledge.
Mr. Soreasmey said of his trip; “One of the things I love my business path for is that it allows me to travel overseas and develop my connections all over Asia, which soon could allow our community of companies to develop ventures and projects cross-borders.
Cambodia is at a crossroads with a strong dependency on Chinese investments and a rebound in its relationship, both political and economic, with France. By partnering and cooperating with French-led companies well immersed in the Chinese business world, we could bring more Chinese-led quality projects to Cambodia. When I look at what Shanghai has become, I won’t mind being involved in building bridges between our countries.”
