Sombok restaurant

The Trading Department has equipped the Sambok restaurant with specialised Gerflor flooring designed for restaurants, as well as Romus mats and Gradus finishing products.

Sombok is a Khmer gastronomic restaurant in Phnom Penh led by the famed "Kimsan Twins" executive chefs. This is the sister restaurant of the renowned ‘Embassy’ based in Siem Reap.

The Gerflor Group is an expert and world leader known especially for the quality of its flooring, and provides inter alia, special flooring for the restaurant industry.

Romus is a French company, which offers a wide range of renovation and construction accessories including mats dedicated to professional use.

Gradus is a brand that offers solutions for carpets, barrier matting, wall protection, and LED lighting systems, in addition to a comprehensive range of stair edging and floor trim profiles.

Our Trading Department installed 120 square meters of Gerflor “Tarasafe Standard PUR” flooring, a surface especially adapted to professional kitchens, which are water and slip resistant.

The PUR surface treatment improves the product performance in terms of stain resistance and durability. It is an ideal solution for heavy traffic applications where slip resistance, durability, hygiene and easy maintenance are required.

In order to optimise the hygiene standards, this installation was finished with Gradus brand finishing products.

Cove formers and capping seals effortlessly sealed the junctions between the edge of the floors and the walls. Contrary to classic baseboards, this technique avoids the concentration of dirt and also facilitates the cleaning process,  thereby helping maintain the vital hygiene standards required in F&B.

Aluminum threshold trims were also installed to create a safe transition between the different types of floorcoverings. The design of this product allows for the fixing and concealment of the edges of the floorcovering, while also protecting it, and provides a neat and crisp finish.

Finally, six square meters of the Romus mat “QUICKMAT-TILE” were installed at the entrance of the restaurant. In the form of a plank of highly absorbent polyamide carpet, bordered by thin polypropylene strips, this range of mats facilitates the scraping of the underside of the soles and resists heavy traffic. A very innovative concept and was effortless to install.
