Launch of Ecam Lasalle in Cambodia.

October 28, 2021
Sina Seng - Confluences Access and students

The first academic year of the international engineering program of ECAM LaSalle and the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) officially started this past month!

We are delighted to have accompanied ECAM LaSalle in its establishment in Cambodia, via the implementation of a double Master's degree in engineering, specialised in sustainable industrial manufacturing, in partnership with the Institute of Technology of Cambodia.

Since the beginning, Confluences has supported ECAM Lasalle by promoting the double-curriculum amongst Khmer and ASEAN students, and established bridges between ECAM Lasalle with the Cambodian higher education ecosystem.

  • This is the first French Engineering Degree in Cambodia with a “French Grande Ecole” DNA.
  • The three-year curriculum will host a first cohort of 16 international students (12 from Cambodia, 3 from France, 1 from Egypt).
  • This will deliver a Double ECAM Engineering + ITC Master Degree.
  • Supporting the IDP, Industrial Development Policy of the Cambodian Ministry of Industry, the curriculum will also set the ground for Industry & Manpower 4.0 future in Cambodia.

This program is an innovative curriculum based on combined expertise of the following institutions: ECAM LaSalle (one of the most prestigious private engineering schools in France), and Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) - the main engineering university in Cambodia.

Besides being a program taught entirely in English, Cambodian students will also have the opportunity to learn French to obtain a B2 level at the end of the program. Some of the students will even be able to apply for scholarships to study further in France.

Developing experiential, practical, and professional skills (including lab classes, projects, and internships with the private sector), the curriculum will deliver gradual technical and engineering specialisation.

The masters program will specifically educate students to incorporate digital technology into the manufacturing and logistics management processes (digitised innovation, mechatronics, supply chains and logistics) based on a circular economy approach with minimal environmental and social impacts (raw materials, energy, water, waste and by-products).

We are proud to be part of this great project and we wish the best of luck to the 16 students for this year!
